How it works

Snap. Review. Log.

  1. Point and shoot

Hold the camera over your plate. No weighing, no searching a database for something that isn’t in it.

  2. It reads the plate

Cal Habibi picks out the ingredients and estimates calories and macros in a few seconds.

  3. Fix anything, then log

Change a portion, remove what isn’t yours, add what it missed. It saves to your day.

Features

Everything you need.
One simple daily habit.

Tracking fails on the days you’re busy, eating out, or the food isn’t in the app. Cal Habibi is built for those days.

Log it five ways

  • Photo — the whole plate at once.
  • Barcode or label — for anything packaged.
  • Voice — “two eggs and 200 grams of chicken.”
  • Saved meals — one tap for the usual.

Targets that fit you

  • Your numbers — from your body, goal and pace, not a preset.
  • Cal Habibi Menu — what still fits in today.
  • Health sync — burned calories can top up your budget.

Reasons to come back

  • Streaks — the run you don’t want to break.
  • Weight trend — the direction, not the daily noise.
  • Badges — Yalla Habibi, Chef Habibi, Ya Salam.

Circles

Better with
your people

Start a Circle with family or friends and race each other on consistency, not on who eats the least.

  • Weekly leaderboard — points for logging and hitting your calorie and protein targets. Scores reset every Monday, so anyone can win.
  • Challenges — race for 7, 14 or 30 days, starting any day you like.
  • Invite in seconds — share a link on WhatsApp and they’re on the board.
  • Private by design — members see your first name, photo, points and streak. Never your calories, weight or meals.

Our food

Made for how we actually eat

مصمّم لطريقة أكلنا فعلًا

Most calorie apps are built around Western plates, so half of what you eat turns into guesswork — a rice dish logged as “rice,” a mixed grill logged as nothing at all.

Cal Habibi is designed around the dishes cooked and ordered here, down to how they’re actually served: shared platters, generous portions, and a day that runs on a different clock in Ramadan.

The maths

Your targets aren’t guesses

Cal Habibi sets your daily calories and macros with the Mifflin–St Jeor equation — the standard clinical estimate for what a body burns at rest — adjusted for your activity and the pace you chose. Every number stays editable.

That equation sets your targets. Reading what’s on your plate is a separate job, handled by the scan, and its numbers are an estimate you can correct.

FAQ

Before you download

What does it cost?

You start with a free trial. After that Cal Habibi is a subscription, billed through the App Store or Google Play. The exact price and trial length are shown in the app before you’re charged, and you can cancel anytime from your store account.

Does it really know our food?

Yes — recognition is built around the dishes eaten here, not just Western plates, and the food database includes regional staples. It’s an estimate either way, so you can correct any result before it’s logged.

Is it in Arabic?

Fully — the whole app, right-to-left, not a partial translation. You can switch between Arabic and English whenever you like.

What if the scan gets it wrong?

Every result is editable before it’s saved. Change a portion, delete an item, add something it missed, or scan the barcode or nutrition label instead to use the values on the packaging.

What happens to my photos and data?

Photos are processed to work out the nutrition, and your logs are stored to your account so your history and progress follow you. We don’t sell your personal data. See the Privacy Policy for the details.

Which phones?

Android phones today, through Google Play. The iPhone version is coming soon, and the App Store link will appear here when it launches.

Where can I download Cal Habibi?

Cal Habibi is on Google Play for Android. Search for “Cal Habibi” in the Play Store, or use the link on this page. The iPhone version is coming soon.

What’s a good calorie tracker for Arabic food?

Cal Habibi is built for it. Most calorie apps are designed around Western meals, so dishes like mandi, kabsa, machboos, biryani and shawarma end up guessed or missing. Cal Habibi recognises regional dishes from a photo, works fully in Arabic or English, and lets you correct any estimate before it’s logged.

Does it work during Ramadan?

Yes. The Cal Habibi Menu can keep calories aside for iftar, so your day’s budget fits a fasting schedule instead of a three-meals-a-day one.

How accurate is photo calorie counting?

A photo gives a good estimate, not a lab measurement. Hidden oil, sauces and portion size move the numbers, which is why every result is editable. For packaged food, scan the barcode or nutrition label to use the exact values on the pack.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. You start with a free trial, and the trial length and price are shown in the app before you’re charged. Cancel anytime from your Google Play account.
